At NSWCDD, employees have access to a variety of wellness programs and amenities that promote a healthy work-life balance. In addition to local resources including a fitness center, aquatics center, running track, nursing mothers program, and health and wellness newsletter, Dahlgren employees benefit from the Department of Navy Civilian Employee Assistance Program (DONCEAP).

DONCEAP is an agency-paid, comprehensive employee assistance and work-life resource provided by the Department of Health and Human Services, Federal Occupational Health. The Employee Assistance Program under DONCEAP offers employees and their family members free, confidential counseling from licensed providers for a wide range of concerns, including:

Depression/anxiety

Grief and loss






DONCEAP Work-Life Services include telephone and web-based resources to help employees and their families manage day-to-day responsibilities and life events. Degreed specialists can provide information and prescreened referrals to help meet child care, parenting, adult care, education, health and wellness, financial, legal, and other employee needs.
