These facilities are used by our military to conduct munitions testing and should be avoided while testing is in progress. NSWC Dahlgren Testing May Produce Very Loud Noise, Sept. 24-26, 2018

 

Access to the Potomac River Middle Danger Zone to Be Restricted During Testing

 

DAHLGREN, Va. - The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) will conduct range testing on Monday, Sept. 24, Tuesday, Sept. 25, and Wednesday, Sept. 26, that may produce very loud noise in communities surrounding Naval Support Facility Dahlgren. The testing hours will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Access to the Potomac River Middle Danger Zone - as described in 33 CFR 334.230 - will be restricted during testing.

* Noise on Station: Potential to create "VERY LOUD" noise in the eastern (Main Range) area of NSF Dahlgren

* Noise Down Range: Potential to create "VERY LOUD" noise down range and in communities surrounding NSF Dahlgren

* River Restrictions: Restricted approximately 20,000 yards down range from NSF Dahlgren to yellow J and K buoys

* Roads Closed on Station: River Bank Road, Fuze Road, Tisdale Road

* Barricades Closed on Station: AA Fuze Range barricades, Tisdale Road barricades near Building 1180

* Noise Down Range: Potential to create "VERY LOUD" noise down range and in communities surrounding NSF Dahlgren

* River Restrictions: Restricted approximately 20,000 yards down range from NSF Dahlgren to yellow J and K buoys

* Roads Closed on Station: Tisdale Road, Caskey Road, Higley Road, Shock Tube Road, Frontage Road

* Barricades Closed on Station: Lower Gambo Creek gate, B1470 gate, Upper Gambo Creek gate
