The mission of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), as defined by Congress, enables NSWC IHD to work with the U.S. maritime industry, academia, state and local governments, and private industry. Several options are available for establishing an alliance with NSWC IHD. Work may be done via:
- Cooperative Research And Development Agreement (CRADA)
- Work for Private Party Agreement
- Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence (CITE) Partnership
These agreements allow industry and academia to respond effectively to DoD and other government acquisition programs and participate in dual-use and commercial activities of the command.
NSWC IHD has diversified and unique research, testing, modeling and simulation capabilities, and computer software that both industry and academia have long expressed an interest in and have often used in their work. Establishing an alliance with NSWC IHD through these agreements provides industry and academia ready access to the command's facilities and capabilities. The cost of entering into an agreement with NSWC IHD is negotiated before commitment to an agreement. An agreement may be fixed price and scheduled to meet individual needs.
