Naval Undersea Warfare Center Newport offers student internships for high school and university students.

Undersea Technology Apprentice Program (UTAP) -  The application for the 2024 summer sessions will be posted in February.

The Undersea Technology Apprentice Program provides an opportunity for up to 20 students to study part time for three weeks during the summer alongside NUWC Division Newport scientists and engineers. In the process, students gain valuable insights by working with advanced technology while developing real-world applications of science and math lessons learned at school.

The program is open to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors only. Please note that all application materials must be included for a student to be considered for an internship. Students will be notified if accepted at the beginning of May.
