CURV 21

CURV 21 is a 6,400-pound Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) that is designed to meet the Navy’s deep-water salvage requirements down to a maximum depth of 20,000 feet of seawater anywhere in the world*.

The system consists of the vehicle, fiber-optic umbilical cable, umbilical traction winch and storage reel, deck hydraulic power unit, operations van, maintenance van and spares storage van. The separate diesel generator can provide electrical power for the system or power from the support platform can be used if it is compatible.

The operator can control the ROV in all six degrees of motion with auto-control functions for depth, altitude, and heading. The vehicle is equipped with CTFM and Kongsberg 200M scanning sonar for target location. CURV uses all electric thrusters and two hydraulic seven function manipulators. It has one High Definition Zoom/Focus Camera mounted on a Pan and Tilt assembly, and several other Standard Definition color and black and white wide-angle television cameras.

The fiber optic multiplex system can combine up to eight channels of video, sonar and navigation data on a single fiber. A digital communications network with a data capacity of 1.5 GB per second controls the vehicle and has significant capacity for future expansion with 2 spare fibers and 3 pass slip rings. The system is designed to interface easily with additional sensors or tool packages using standard data formats.

For special operations, the ROV can accommodate customized, skid-mounted tool packages. These packages can include, but are not limited to, trenchers, specialized salvage tools, instrument packages or other mission-oriented equipment.

CURV equipment modules are designed for ground or air shipment, and can operate from any capable platform of opportunity.

Deep Drone 8000

DEEP DRONE is a 4,100-pound Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROC) that is designed to meet the Navy's mid-water salvage requirements down to a maximum depth of 8,000 feet seawater.

The system consists of the vehicle, operations van, maintenance van and spares storage van, Seahorse 2 rotating boom, Launch and Recovery System (LARS), umbilical cable, and deck hydraulic power unit. Navigation is accomplished with an ultra-short baseline acoustic tracking system. A separate diesel generator can provide electrical power for the system or power from the support platform can be used if it is compatible.

The operator can control the ROV in all six degrees of motion with auto-control functions for depth, altitude, heading, station keeping and auto translate. The vehicle is equipped with CTFM Sonar that can detect acoustic pingers and small objects out past 250 meters. A Kongsberg 375-675kHz scanning sonar allows for high resolution target location. Deep Drone uses 3 electric thrusters for Axial and Vertical movement, and 3 hydraulic thrusters for Lateral and Yaw movement. It has two hydraulic seven function manipulators. It has one High Definition Zoom/Focus Camera mounted on a Pan and Tilt assembly, and several other Standard Definition color and black and white wide-angle television cameras. Light comes from 2 DSPL 80W Sphere LEDs, 2 QLED LED floodlights, and 2 custom 150W Flood LEDs.

The fiber optic multiplex system can combine up to eight channels of video, sonar and navigation data on a single fiber. A digital communications network with a data capacity of 1.5 GB per second controls the vehicle and has significant capacity for future expansion with 4 spare fibers and 6 pass slip rings. The system is designed to interface easily with additional sensors or tool packages using standard data formats.

For special operations, the ROV can accommodate specialized salvage tools, instrument packages or other mission-oriented equipment. Deep Drone equipment modules are designed for ground or air shipment, and can operate from any capable platform of opportunity.

MR2 HYDROS

HYDROS is a 2,000-pound Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) that is designed to meet the Navy’s shallow water, light weight, rapid deployable salvage requirements to a maximum depth of 5,000 feet anywhere in the world.

The system is air transportable and can operate from a wide variety of vessels-of-opportunity (VOO). The vehicle is an all hydraulic design with a programmable logic controller (PLC) architecture.

The ROV system was designed around two different configurations. The light weight, low-volume configuration is limited to 1,000-fsw and able to fit on a small VOO such as a harbor tug, oceanographic vessel, or commercial fishing boat. The second heavy configuration is a fully self-sufficient standalone system capable of 5,000-fsw with complete deck gear to include traditional control vans, a launch and recovery handling system, and all support equipment.

The operator can control the ROV in all six degrees of motion manually and with traditional auto-control functions for depth, altitude, heading, and speed over ground. Additionally, the control system has an ROV dynamic positioning capability allowing the vehicle to fly via computer instruction allowing hands-free position keeping, auto-translate movement, follow pre-programmed  routes and go to posit functions .

The vehicle is equipped with sonars that can detect acoustic pingers and identify small targets to a distance of 1,000-feet. HYDROS uses an electro-hydraulic power pack for thrusters and all tooling functions.  It has two five function manipulators capable of working with tools and attaching rigging up to 100lbs. For imaging the vehicle has a HD Pan and Tilt Video Camera and LED lighting. For special operations the ROV can accommodate custom skid-mounted tool packages and other sensor suites.
