Underwater Sea Glider
NSWC Carderock Division engineers teach middle and high school students how to design and build their own Autonomous Underwater Vehicles, also known as an Underwater Sea Glider. As part of this program, students learn about buoyancy, electrical circuits and electronic sensors, as well as how to build and program a robotic controller. Students are also given the opportunity to "fly" their Underwater Sea Glider in the miniature model basin in located at NSWC Carderock Division in West Bethesda, Maryland.
