Vision Statement
World class naval shipyard (NSY) and Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) performance driven by expertise, collaboration, information-based decision making and leadership development.
Mission Statement
For almost 250 years, our Navy has operated forward to protect commerce and keep the conflict far from our shores. We have provided stability, deterred great power wars, preserved peace, and ushered in prosperity for billions. NAVSEA 04, together with the Naval Shipyards (NSYs) and Supervisor of Shipbuilding offices (SUPSHIPs), provides the foundation for the U.S. Navy’s maritime superiority by constructing, maintaining, modernizing, and repairing Fleet warships that ultimately go into harm’s way to protect national interests and the American way of life. With strong morale and steadfast engagement, NAVSEA 04 safely realizes this mission through first time quality that is delivered on schedule at budgeted cost.
Core Values
These core values represent the foundation of our organization, guiding our behavior, decisions, and interactions. The core values provide the compass that steers us towards our mission and vision, shaping our culture and fostering a workplace where collaboration, respect, and safety are paramount. Grounded in the principles of the Outward Mindset developed by Arbinger Institute, we strive to cultivate a mindset of empathy, understanding, continual improvement, and self-accountability where we view others as people with needs, objectives, and challenges, rather than objects or obstacles to our own success.
- Honesty: We act with integrity, being honest and transparent in all our interactions, and recognizing the impact of our actions on others.
- Personal Mastery: We constantly take steps towards continual learning and development to evolve and enhance our contribution to the mission.
- Teamwork: We foster collaboration by striving to see the perspectives and contributions of others, valuing their insights and working together towards common goals.
- Accountability: We take responsibility not only for our own actions but also for understanding how our behavior affects others, holding ourselves and each other accountable for our collective success.
