Please visit https://www.bahamas.com/travelupdates for the most up to date requirements for entering the Bahamas. Effective 27 December 2021, any person travelling to the Bahamas will be required to obtain a negative COVID test no more than 3 days (72 Hours) prior to travel date,

PRIOR TO ARRIVAL TO AUTEC

For those who are NOT fully immunized:

  • International visitors travelling to the Bahamas are required to get a COVID-19 RT-PCR (including PCR, NAA, NAAT, TMA or RNA) test within 3 (three) days of travel.  The day you are tested is day #0 and you must travel by day #3 or you will need to start the entire process over.
  • Traveler will need to have a PRINTED copy of the approved Bahamian Health Visa, and a PRINTED copy of negative COVID-19 test results.
  • Once test results are received, the Traveler must complete the requirements and gain approval of a Bahamian Health Visa at the following web site: https://travel.gov.bs/.

For those who are fully immunized:

  • International visitors travelling to the Bahamas who are fully immunized are required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test (either a Rapid Antigen or RT-PCR) MA or RNA) within 3 (three) days of travel.  The day you are tested is day #0 and you must travel by day #3 or you will need to start the entire process over.
  • Traveler will need to have a PRINTED copy of the approved Bahamian Health Visa, a PRINTED copy of negative COVID-19 test results, and vaccination card.
  • Once test results are received, the Traveler must complete the requirements and gain approval of a Bahamian Health Visa at the following web site: https://travel.gov.bs/.

WHILE ON AUTEC & PRIOR TO DEPARTURE FROM

The below COVID testing requirements/guidelines are applicable to all visitors and must be read and understood by all prior to arrival at AUTEC.  Included are COVID testing requirements and timelines and specific instructions for procurement of/payment for the Rapid Antigen Test kit for all official travelers to/from AUTEC unless otherwise exempted by the Navy.

Section 1 - Routine COVID testing conducted onboard AUTEC

United States Entry Required COVID Testing

  • A negative Rapid Antigen Test is required for travel to the U.S. from international destinations REGARDLESS OF IMMUNIZATION STATUS.
  • AUTEC base is included in this requirement.
  • This test is required for all Travelers departing AUTEC to the United States (including on the AUTEC Aircraft).
  • All personnel the test must be completed no more than 1 day prior to flight departure (completion/results will be verified at flight check-in and by the flight crew upon boarding). A copy of your negative test results as well as a hard copy of your vaccination record are both required for travel.
 

Travelers are responsible for   scheduling/obtaining the required negative Rapid Antigen Test prior to flight check-in.  Standard COVID testing is available at the base theater Monday – Friday, and Sundays from 0900-1100. Saturday: On Call – Contact AUTEC dispatch at X6251 for coordination.

If Travelers show up to flight check-in without the negative Rapid Antigen Test results and associated paperwork, they will be denied check-in/boarding until theycomplete the required testing.Non-compliant passengers may be rolled to the next available flight pending Rapid Antigen Test results.

 

Section 2 - Instructions for the United States Entry Required COVID Test

U.S. Military (Non-AUTEC)/Foreign Military (unless in possession of exception documents), all NUWC/U.S. Government Personnel, and all U.S. Government Sub- Contractors/Vendors on Official Travel:

Antigen testing for these personnel is NOT AUTHORIZED to be conducted by PAE personnel at the Base Theater.  The following instructions must be followed for obtaining the required testing.

  • Purchase a COVID-19 test kit (cost is $20) from ARA (Retail Store/Lighthouse/Bait Shack during normal operating hours and Base Theater during testing hours) prior to reporting for testing.
  • You will receive a receipt indicating you purchased a COVID-19 test.
  • Contact the Navy Corpsman (x6333 or cell @ (9) 357-2129) to arrange a date/time for Antigen Testing within the timelines specified for the type of test you are receiving.
  • Present the receipt when you arrive for testing and the Navy Corpsman will supply the kit, administer the COVID test, and provide documentation of results.
    • Retain these documents for submission at flight check-in/boarding.
    • Retain the receipt to claim when you complete your travel expense report.
  • PAE Business/Official Travelers, PAE Vendors and PAE Workman’s Comp Travelers
    • Purchase a COVID-19 test kit (cost is $20) from ARA (Retail Store/Lighthouse/Bait Shack during normal operating hours; Base Theater during testing hours) prior to reporting for testing.
      • You will receive a receipt indicating you purchased a COVID-19 test.
    • Report to the Base Theater (schedule below) for testing within the timelines specified for the type of test you are receiving.
      • Scheduled Testing Hours: 0900-1100 (Monday thru Friday and Sundays). Saturday: On Call – Contact AUTEC dispatch at X6251 for coordination
      • Show your test kit receipt to personnel at the Base Theater who will supply the kit, administer the COVID test, and provide documentation of results.
      • Retain these documents for submission at flight check-in/boarding.
      • Retain the receipt to claim when you complete your travel expense report.
    • For anyone requiring a pre-flight COVID test outside the standard hours identified, contact Dispatch at x6251 to arrange for administering the COVID-19 Antigen Test.
  • PAE Employees/Visitors/Guests on Personal (non-business) Travel: 
    • There is no cost for the test kit/testing (PAE has paid for these test kits).
    • Report to the Base Theater (schedule below) for testing within the timelines specified for the type of test you are receiving.
      • Scheduled Testing Hours: 0900-1100 (Monday thru Friday, and Sundays). Saturday: On Call – Contact AUTEC dispatch at X6251 for coordination
      • Fire Department personnel will supply the kit, administer the COVID test, and provide documentation of results.
      • Retain these documents for submission at flight check-in/boarding.
    • For anyone requiring a COVID outside the standard hours identified, contact Dispatch at x6251 to arrange for administering the COVID-19 Antigen Test.
  • AUTEC Assigned Navy Personnel (for all travel/testing unless in possession of exception documents)
    • Contact the Navy Corpsman (x6333 or cell @ (9) 357-2129) to arrange a date/time for Antigen Testing within the timelines specified for the type of test you are receiving.
  • U.S. Military (Non-AUTEC)/Foreign Military (unless in possession of exception documents), all NUWC/U.S. Government Personnel, and all U.S. Government Sub- Contractors/Vendors:

  • Contact the Navy Corpsman (x6333 or cell @ (9) 357-2129) to arrange a date/time for Antigen Testing and any special instructions.
  • AUTEC Assigned Navy, Transient Navy and other Range Users passing through AUTEC under official orders may be issued U.S. Testing exception documents by their command or the AUTEC COVID-19 Coordinator (ENS Yourtz, x5157) in lieu of receiving a test.
  • In order to receive “Exception” status to this policy, personnel MUST have a physical copy of their orders.
  • Without exception documents, testing is REQUIRED for travel back to the U.S. – instructions above laid out by type of traveler.
