AEGIS Technical Representative (AEGIS TECHREP) is headquartered in the Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems (LM RMS) main plant in Moorestown, NJ, with field offices located at Raytheon Company, Marlborough, MA and Andover, MA, Bath Iron Works shipyard, Bath, ME, and Huntington Ingalls Intl shipyard, Pascagoula, MS. The VADM James H. Doyle, Jr. Combat System Engineering Development Site (CSEDS) and the RADM George R. Meinig, Jr. Integrated Air and Missile Defense Engineering Center (IAMDEC) are Navy owned facilities of AEGIS TECHREP with a contingent of Navy personnel. AEGIS TECHREP hosts numerous U.S., foreign government and industry representatives.
Our mission is to validate total ship combat system design by providing the means for conducting engineering development and testing and evaluation. We monitor production, and accept the AEGIS Weapon System (AWS). We integrate and test combat systems equipment and computer programs, and evaluate operational suitability. AEGIS TECHREP provides day to day technical management, direction and oversight of the AEGIS program efforts to the prime AWS contractor and its subcontractors; to provide the fleet interface for interim logistics support; to support initial crew training and Operational Test and Evaluation Force (OPTEVFOR) evaluations; and to perform such other functions and tasks as may be directed by higher authority.
The AEGIS TECHREP organization is comprised of civil servants, military personnel and contractors. The responsibilities include monitoring of over three billion dollars of simultaneous large-scale engineering development, integration and test, production and maintenance contracts involving different complex combat system baseline configurations for U.S. Navy AEGIS Cruiser/Destroyer/Amphibious Assault platforms, U.S. Coast Guard, Missile Defense Agency and Foreign partners including Australia, Canada, Japan, Norway, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Spain. These systems are the Navy’s most advanced and complex weapons systems.
