EA-6B Prowler aircraft dedicated as permanent display at Crane

CRANE, Indiana - On Thursday, a Navy EA-6B Prowler aircraft was formally dedicated to Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) employees, who have provided 50 years of unwavering support, in a ceremony held at Naval Support Activity Crane.

The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) transits Puget Sound Aug. 11, 2017. John C. Stennis is underway for sea trials three days ahead of schedule during a planned incremental availability (PIA) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. During PIA, the ship and shipyard team accomplished the largest work package ever for an aircraft carrier in a six-month availability. NSWC Crane Hosts Surface Electro-Optics/Infrared (EO/IR) Standards Profile Review

CRANE, Ind. - July 11, 2017 - Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) hosted a Surface Electro-Optics/Infrared (EO/IR) Standards Profile Review in collaboration with Naval Sea Systems Command’s (NAVSEA) Surface EO/IR Technical Warrant Holder from 9-10 May. The event was a follow-up to the NAVSEA EO/IR Modular Open Systems Approach/Architecture (MOSA) Technical Exchange Meeting, which was hosted by NSWC Crane in June 2016 and established the technical direction for the standards review.

U.S. Navy Engineer Wins ‘STEM Oscar’ at 2017 BEYA Award Gala

WASHINGTON (Feb. 11, 2017) - Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Commander Rear Adm. Tom Druggan presents the Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA) Community Service Award to Dwayne Nelson, NSWC Dahlgren Division engineer, at the 31st annual BEYA gala. "This award has inspired and challenged me to contribute more towards empowering our youth and others to serve our community while encouraging interest in highly-rewarding science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields," said Nelson. "Giving back and empowering people to reach their full potential is vital to stimulating enthusiasm about STEM.
