Narragansett Bay Test Facility Operations and Maintenance support is contracted out on a three-year basis.

It consists primarily of range craft operation and maintenance, but the contract also allows flexibility in emergent project support. The maintenance of the government–owned, contractor–operated (GOCO) range craft adheres to standard Navy Preventive Maintenance Schedules (PMS).

The TWR–841 is hauled out for hull repairs on a five-year cycle. Smaller vessels are hauled out on a routine basis as necessary. Torpedo recovery operations are typically supported by supplying the TWR-841 and/or a chartered recovery vessel, recovery helicopters, and mammal watch aircraft at locations worldwide.
