Routine measurements of transducer parameters can be made over the frequency range of 50 Hz to 500 kHz.

Testing requirements below 50 Hz and above 500 kHz can be accommodated depending upon the physical and acoustic limitations imposed by the transducer size and test distance.

Measurements can be made over a dynamic range of 1 volt to 1400 volts or 0.001 amp to 80 amps.
Power availability is 10kVA (100 Hz to 2 kHz), 15% duty cycle; 2kVA (20 kHz to 500 kHz), 20% duty cycle.
The following measurement parameters are available:

  • Transmitting voltage/current/power response
  • Free-field voltage sensitivity
  • Transmitting and receiving directivity patterns
  • Impedance/admittance
  • Voltage/current/power/phase
  • Harmonic distortion of transmit and receive signals
  • Ambient noise level/spectrum analysis
  • Linearity (output vs. voltage, current, power)
  • Bearing error for multimode hydrophones
  • Capacitance and dissipation factor
  • DC resistance Insulation resistance
  • Sum-difference (null balance) magnitude and phase
  • Absolute reciprocity calibration
  • Target strength measurements
  • Insertion loss measurements
