IMAGE: DAHLGREN, Va. (March 28, 2018) - John Fiore, Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) technical director, addresses government, defense contractors and military personnel at a demonstration of NSWCDD-developed weapon technologies and Textron Systems' developmental Common Unmanned Surface Vehicle (CUSV). The autonomous Navy weapons systems - known as the Surface and Expeditionary Warfare Mission Module - are to be integrated as a proof of concept with the autonomous CUSV. “Our partnerships with industry allow us to move fast,” said Fiore. “If you’re the one that’s going to be giving this capability to warfighters, I want you to be effective in doing that. That’s what motivates us and that’s why we collaborate. That’s why it’s so important for us to have you here today with your equipment and have you partnering with us.” (U.S. Navy photo/Released)
