Luddy School awards IU's first-ever engineering Ph.D. to NSWC Crane employee

The Department of Intelligent Systems Engineering at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering awarded its first ever Ph.D. to Adam Duncan, an electrical engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center’s Crane Division located at nearby Crane, Indiana. Duncan’s dissertation focused on securing field-programmable gate arrays against post-synthesis attacks.

NSWCDD subject matter experts briefed Beard and his delegation of Royal Navy officers on programs and capabilities that included NSWCDD directed energy weapons such as the high energy laser, electromagnetic railgun, and hyper-velocity projectile in addition to high power radio frequency capabilities and the weaponization of unmanned systems.
