The Remote Control Assault Amphibious Vehicle (RC AAV) is pictured after completing one of its successfully-completed 22 surf zone crossings while undergoing testing at Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) United States Marine Corps’ (USMC) Amphibious Vehicle Test Branch. The testing of the newly modernized RC AAV is the result of a collaborative effort between the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division and the United States MCSC.

Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) employees enrolled in Florida State University Panama City’s (FSU PC) Master of Science in Systems Engineering program recently toured FSU’s Engineering Facilities in Tallahassee June 7. Touring the campus, the students posed for a group photo in the lobby at the university’s High-Performance Materials Institute. USI, NSWC Crane sign agreement to conduct research on chemical reactions

USI President Dr. Ronald Rochon and NSWC Crane Commanding Officer CAPT Mark Oesterreich signed a cooperative research and development agreement (CRADA) in a ceremony on October 22, 2018 hosted at NSWC Crane. The CRADA between NSWC Crane and USI allows both entities to leverage each other’s subject matter experts, laboratory space, and high-tech equipment.

MIT launches academic study on NSWC Crane Innovation Ecosystem

Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT) will perform an in-depth academic case study of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) Innovation Ecosystem. The Department of Defense (DoD) Laboratories Office within the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) has awarded a competitive contract to MIT to execute this analysis. MIT staff will launch this one-year case study October 11 at NSWC Crane.

NSWC Crane Division, Ivy Tech Awarded 2018 FLC Midwest Regional Award for STEM, T2 Efforts

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division and Ivy Tech Community College were awarded the State and Local Economic Development Award from the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) for their partnership on a STEM summer camp. For the past two years, NSWC Crane and The Gayle & Bill Cook Center for Entrepreneurship at Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington have collaborated on the camp, which targeted young people with entrepreneurial dreams from grade 7 to 10.
