The Wave Energy Prize competition has started its final phase of testing at the Naval Surface Warfare Center,
Carderock Division, hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy. The final phase is taking place at the Maneuvering
and Seakeeping Basin in West Bethesda, Md. Nine teams were selected to build a one-twentieth scale model
of their Wave Energy Converter (WEC) device to showcase their performance and compete to win $1.5 million.
