DAHLGREN, Va. (May 24, 2017) - Boy Scouts Drew Warder and Lucas Umberger present Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division Commanding Officer Capt. Godfrey 'Gus' Weekes with a Certificate of Appreciation after his speech to Boy Scout Troop 1404. Weekes spoke to the troop about his Navy career and world-wide travels, citing examples of the importance of being prepared and looking out for shipmates, fellow scouts, and teammates in any situation, to include hiking and camping expeditions.

The first-of-class ship - the first new U.S. aircraft carrier design in 40 years - spent several days conducting builder's sea trails, a comprehensive test of many of the ship's key systems and technologies.
