Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility Employee of the Year nominees gathered at the Admiral Theater Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. to honor top employees during the shipyard’s annual recognition ceremony.

For those unable to attend, the event was also livestreamed for viewing in the shipyard’s auditorium and via the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.

During the event, the command celebrated the accomplishments of employees from among more than 230 personnel nominated for their 2021 performance in 26 categories.

Supervisory and non-supervisory personnel were honored in categories such as administrative support services, trades and projects, and technical fields. The event also included special categories, including innovation, safety, volunteer service, valor and a “Spirit of Compassion” award.

Capt. Jip Mosman, commander, PSNS & IMF, presided over the event and praised the winners and nominees.

“I feel privileged to work with each of you, and I’d like to express my personal appreciation for the support you give our command and our mission,” said Mosman. “You know as well as I do, this isn’t just a job. It’s a sense of duty. And a sense of pride. Your efforts are what make America’s Navy the most powerful Navy in the world.”
