CRANE, Ind. – Scott Clark, a 33-year employee at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), received a Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award earlier this year in recognition of his dedicated service as the Manager and Range Control Officer for the Ordnance Test Area at Crane.

The Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award is the third highest Navy civilian award, and it is given for service or contributions resulting in high value or benefit to the Department of the Navy.

“I am honored to receive this award. After researching some of the history behind this award, I was humbled to even be considered for it,” Clark said. “The motto ‘I Work At Crane With Pride’ is true, and serving our Warfighter always makes me proud to work at Crane.”

NSWC Commander, Rear Adm. Tom Druggan, drafted Clark’s official award citation, and he commended Clark for his “selfless contributions and outstanding professionalism”.

“True educators are able to instill not only a process, but a sentiment which effectively relays how work is done correctly,” Rear Adm. Druggan wrote. “Mr. Clark’s success in maintaining streamlined processes that are accurate and current within his organization are well recognized. His dedicated service has reflected great credit upon himself and is in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Navy.”

NSWC Crane is a naval laboratory and a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) with focus areas in Expeditionary Warfare, Strategic Missions and Electronic Warfare. NSWC Crane is responsible for multi-domain, multi- spectral, full life cycle support of technologies and systems enhancing capability to today’s warfighter.
