NSWC PCD Scientist Tackles Navy’s Toughest Problems

Dr. Cobb is a well-respected scientist and engineer in the field of signal processing and automation. He was recently promoted to Distinguished scientist and engineer for advanced signal processing and automation, a NAVSEA position, that reports directly to the NSWC PCD TD. His story is particular interesting about his story is that he was initially reluctant to take a leadership role that was offered to him. Despite his hesitation he has been resoundingly successful and is a sought after expert in his field.

New technology keeps Sailors safe, out of minefields

The Airborne Surface Quad Thruster Interface Device, or ASQUID, attaches to the side of a MH-60 helicopter and allows the crew to lowers a MK-18 into the water to search for mines preventing Navy personnel from having to enter a minefield.
