Hafa Adai! Opportunities Await you in Guam
All NAVSEA employees are required to hold a security clearance. Contrary to popular belief, the security clearance process does not have to be scary or intimidating. It is simply a process designed to make sure you will be a trustworthy employee who does not pose a risk to national security.
What You Need to Know
Guam is called the “tip of the spear” due to its proximity to regions of the world that are at risk of conflict such as the South China Sea, Taiwan Strait, Yellow Sea and North Korea. The naval base is home port to four nuclear-powered fast attack submarines – vital assets in the US intelligence gathering operation in the region – support vessels and a number of Pacific Command, Pacific Fleet, Seventh Fleet and Naval Seabee units. Due to its strategic location, a new Guam Detachment was approved in 2019 and planned to be fully operational in 2025, consisting of more than 170 civilian employees and 400 military personnel that will be permanently assigned.
