Stefanie Easter, director of Navy Staff for the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, left, spoke to participants on how to “Lead Where You Are in a Diverse Environment”. Laura Linwood, secretary general of the Council of Women World Leaders, discussed “Moving Beyond Diversity.” The training event featured a wide spectrum of presentations and discussion panels focusing on the challenges and opportunities facing today’s leadership.

(May 29, 2018) – Dr. Carson Eoyang – keynote speaker at the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month Observance – shares 10 rules for success that he learned from his parents and teachers. He fine-tuned the rules while working on degree programs at MIT, Harvard, and Stanford - rules that continued to impact his professional career in federal service. Eoyang credited education as the key to his family’s success after his father emigrated from China to the United States after World War II.

NSWCDD Dam Neck Activity Personnel Highlight their Japanese and Filipino Heritage

(May 9, 2018) - Employees of Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Dam Neck Activity gave presentations on their heritage in Japan and the Philippines during the command's Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration. Pictured from left to right: Martial artist Jonathan Armstrong, Filipino-American presenter Pert Asiatico, and Japanese-American presenter Katherine Johnson with Marcus Matthews and Roberto Garcia of the NSWCDD Dam Neck Activity Diversity Committee. Johnson and Asiatico spoke on the rich cultural heritages of Japan and the Philippines, which they have experienced first-hand. Filipino food was enjoyed by many after the presentations.

NSWC Crane Hosts Black History Month Luncheon
