Norfolk Naval Shipyard’s (NNSY) Champion for the Chesapeake Schools, Code 2360 Learning Standards Administrator Bruce Cruickshank, works with the Shipyard Instructional Design Center (Code 1170) to film a video sharing how math, science, or reading impacts the everyday jobs here at NNSY. The video is being sent to local schools to be shared with the students in a virtual environment. More videos are currently in production at this time.

Tank Team Triumphs for USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) Availability

The tank team for the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) project, comprised of shipyard personnel, Sailors, and contractors, completed work on more than 500 tanks and helped ensure the Bush undocked on time Aug. 29.

NNSY’s EDP Cadre-9 Achievement Unlocked: Program Complete

The cadre this year consisted of (from left to right) Nuclear Zone Manager Aaron Jarman (Code 361), Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department (NEPD) Training Branch Head Matt DeLong (Code 2370), Radiological Engineer Sasha Norfleet (Code 105.2), and Engineering and Planning Department (EPD) Naval Architect Rachel Yarasavich (Code 254). Due to being placed on Restriction of Movement (ROM), DeLong was only able to attend virtually.
