System of Records Notices (SORN)

A system of records is a group of records under the control of an agency from which information is retrieved by the name of an individual or by another identifier assigned to the individual such as number or symbol. Under the Privacy Act, each agency is required to publish notice of its systems of records in the Federal Register.
