NEWPORT, RI - NUWC Division Newport, one of two divisions of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, is the Navy's full-spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering, and fleet support center for submarine warfare systems and many other systems associated with the undersea battlespace.

NEWPORT, RI – Dr. John Burrow, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, Testing and Evaluation, kicked off NUWC Division Newport’s Annual Naval Technology Exercise (ANTX) as the keynote speaker on Aug. 16, 2016.

NEWPORT, RI – Lockheed Martin’s Marlin, an autonomous underwater vehicle, is prepared for testing in Narragansett Bay as part of an ANTX 2016 demonstration. ANTX provided an opportunity for the 22 participants to demonstrate technologies and collaboratively help them evolve before their introduction to the fleet.

NEWPORT, RI – Lockheed Martin’s Marlin operating at the Narragansett Bay Test Facility as part of ANTX 2016. The event identified benefits of managing and controlling operations across the air, sea, and sub-sea domains to optimize the Navy’s collective effectiveness throughout the maritime environment.

NEWPORT, RI – The Engineering and Diving Support Unit is a high-functioning team of engineers and technicians from various departments at Division Newport who are qualified U.S. Navy divers and can support technical waterborne work as a collateral duty.

NEWPORT, RI – Virtual Worlds is an in-depth training program for the Navy that provides excellent fleet training in a virtual setting, at a significantly lower cost to the Department of Defense.
