NSWCPD and Morgan State University Enter Into Formal Education Partnership Agreement

Spencer III, Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) commanding officer, and Dr. Monique Head, Morgan State University Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, sign an historic, formal Education Partnership Agreement between NSWCPD and Morgan State in Philadelphia April 3, 2017. The partnership will unite Morgan State faculty and students with NSWCPD on U.S. Navy research projects and other Science, Technology, Engineering and Math collaboration efforts.

SWRMC Enables Successful Assessment aboard USS Essex (LHD 2)

U.S. Navy Partners with U.S. Coast Guard for Service Life Extension Work

The Navy is partnering with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) to execute a Service Life Extension Plan on up to five of the Yard Patrol (YP) 676 Class Training Craft.   The maintenance and modernization work will be performed at the USCG Yard in Baltimore, Maryland and will allow the midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) to continue training onboard these craft. YP 688 is the first craft to arrive for modernization.

Ford (CVN 78) man the rails as the ship departs Huntington Ingalls Industries Newport News Shipbuilding for builder's sea trials off the U.S. East Coast. The first-of-class ship-the first new U.S. aircraft carrier design in 40 years-will spend several days conducting builder's sea trials, a comprehensive test of many of the ship's key systems and technologies.
