Captain Dave Jones graduated from Missouri Southern University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and later received his commission through Officer Candidate School. He has a Master’s of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management from the Pennsylvania State University.
His afloat assignment include Supply Officer, USS Nevada (SSBN 733); Readiness Officer, USS Boxer (LHD 4), and Supply Officer, USS Kearsarge (LHD 3).
His ashore assignments include Navy Acquisition Contracting Officer, Fleet Logistics Center San Diego; Operations and Executive Officer, Senior Contracting Official Afghanistan; Logistics Operations and Exercises Branch Chief, U.S. Pacific Command J4; Submarine Support Director, Naval Supply Systems Command Weapons Systems Support, and Spares Readiness Officer, U.S. Fleet Forces Command.
His most recent assignment was Director, Surface Operations, Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support.
Jones is authorized to wear the Submarine, Surface and Aviation Supply Officer pins. Additionally, he is a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps with certifications in Life-Cycle Logistics and Contracting.
Personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various expeditionary, campaign, and unit commendations.
