Kevin M. Cormier

Assistant Deputy, Commander Industrial Operations

Mr. Kevin M. Cormier serves as the Assistant Deputy Commander for Industrial Operations, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) where his principal responsibilities include oversight and support of the four public naval shipyards encompassing more than 37,000 civilian and military personnel executing major maintenance and modernization availabilities on the Navy’s submarines, aircraft carriers, and supporting surface ship maintenance. He was selected for Senior Executive Service in June of 2023. Mr. Cormier has over 30 years of combined military, private industry and civilian service.


Most recently, Mr. Cormier served as the Deputy Program Manager for the Gerald R. Ford Class Aircraft Carrier Program where he led a team of NAVSEA professionals responsible to acquire, construct, and test Ford Class Aircraft Carriers. In this capacity, Mr. Cormier supervised a civilian workforce of 70 government civilian and military personnel and managed the planning, budgeting and execution of $20B across various Navy appropriations.


Mr. Cormier also served as the Principal Assistant Program Manager for Life Cycle Support in the Program Executive Office, Aircraft Carriers. In this capacity, he managed the team responsible for the full spectrum of logistics programs supporting sustainment of all operational Aircraft Carriers. This responsibility encompassed the logistics programs associated with the Aircraft Carrier mid-life Refueling Complex Overhaul program, a $5B recapitalization effort.


Prior to joining the Civilian Service, Mr. Cormier worked in private industry as a Program Manager for aircraft carrier Engineering, Logistics, and Knowledge Management efforts. He started his career with an enlistment in the U.S. Navy as an Electrician’s Mate serving onboard USS Mount Whitney from 1992 to 1997.


Mr. Cormier holds a Bachelor of Science in Leadership from Northeastern University where he graduated summa cum laude. As a member of the Defense Acquisition Workforce, he is certified in Program Management and Life Cycle Logistics. His military and civilian recognition includes the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award (2023), Navy Superior Civilian Service Award (2019), Under Secretary of Defense Workforce Individual Achievement Award (2014), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and several Special Act awards.
