Cmdr. Christiana Burgos is a native of Charlotte Hall, Maryland but now considers Poulsbo, Washington her home. She graduated, and was commissioned from the United States Naval Academy in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering. She holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Her at-sea assignments include service on USS Carter Hall (LSD 50), USS Stethem (DDG 63) as the Fire Control Officer, USS Rodney M Davis (FFG 61) as the Chief Engineer, and USS Nimitz (CVN 68) as the Damage Control Assistant.
Her shore tours include the United States Naval Academy as a Seamanship and Navigation instructor, Engineering Assessments, Pacific as the LCS Lead and Diesel, Gas Turbine Assessor, and at Afloat Training Group, Pacific Northwest as the Executive Officer and Chief Engineer.
Burgos had the honor of serving with a crew that earned a Navy Unit Commendation. Her personal awards include various personal, service, campaign, and unit awards.
She is married to Michael Burgos of Bronx, NY and her step-son, U.S. Navy Aviation Electricians Mate, Airman Nathaniel Burgos is currently stationed with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25.
