The approximately 2000 military, civil service, and contract engineers, scientists, technicians, industrial trades, logistics and administrative personnel who make up the workforce of Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport play a key role in Fleet support. We work with our partners in other warfare centers and naval commands, industry and academia to deliver the best products, services and capabilities for Fleet Readiness at the best cost and on time.
As we work to sustain today’s Fleet efficiently and effectively and to build an affordable future Fleet, we welcome the challenges presented by change. Our people are talented, innovative and are leaders in test and evaluation, in-service engineering and maintenance of undersea weapons and combat systems, and obsolescence management.
NUWC Keyport cultivates a culture of quality, diversity, and leadership. We enable our people to deliver the best products and services by recruiting, developing, and retaining a high-performing, competency-based, mission focused workforce.
We employ a Continuous Process Improvement methodology through Lean, six sigma, and other measures such as “5S” to improve our procedures, helping ensure that we continue to deliver best-value products and services to our customers. Lean is eliminating waste - We compare our performance with leading activities in both the private-sector and government, ensuring that our workforce employs the most effective and efficient methods.
Union and management cooperation has long been instrumental in maintaining productive working conditions at NUWC Keyport. In January 2009, Division Keyport Leadership and International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM&AW) and the Bremerton Metal Trades Council (BMTC) Leadership signed a "Principles of Partnership" Charter Agreement. James VanAntwerp, Division Technical Director for NUWC Keyport said, "A healthy labor/management relationship and partnership is crucial to the long-term success of the organization, and I eagerly look forward to working with the unions on our journey forward."
At Keyport, we take pride in our work. We accept responsibility and accountability for our products and services - We deliver quality!
