The Fleet Maintenance Support Branch is located at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and is supported by Code 2360.1 and Code 2360.2 in the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department. Our group originated as a part of the Intermediate Maintenance Activity Nuclear Planning Yard (Code 3200) in the mid to late 1980’s at Charleston Naval Shipyard. Since then we have moved from Charleston to Norfolk where we were reorganized and absorbed into Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Even though our name has changed, our mission remains the same, which is to support Naval personnel in the maintenance and repair of reactor and propulsion plant systems through training and engineering assistance. We are solely funded by the Navy’s Type Commanders, both submarine and surface, and by Naval Sea Systems Command, 08 Directorate. If you look though our course listing and the other training and engineering products we offer, you will get a good idea of the services we provide the fleet.
