High school students show their skills in undersea vehicle competition at NUWC Division Newport

NEWPORT, R.I. - Former Undersea Technology Apprentice Program participant Zach Young (left), who is currently an intern in the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport's Chief Technology Office, said the program helped define his professional goals. As part of a three-week paid internship the high school students designed, programmed and built their team’s underwater vehicle then tested them out in Division Newport’s torpedo tank.
