MWR manages recreation programs that provide opportunities for social interaction, self-expression, leisure pursuits, and cultural and educational activities that appeal to all segments of the community. These can include a variety of activities like movies and concerts, outdoor recreation programs, special interest classes and programs, diving, auto skills, swimming, and even arts and crafts just to name a few.
Support Site Fitness Forum
The Support Site Fitness Forum is an over 10,000 square foot facility containing a full court gymnasium, weight room, circuit weight area, cardio theater (with a customized system for audio and video selections), aerobic room, spinning room, racquetball courts, stretching area, and locker rooms with saunas. The following programs and services are offered: free exercise classes (aerobics, yoga, Zumba, H.I.T.T, cycling, etc.), conference rooms for training and meetings, personal training, locker rentals, massage, and fee-based classes (ballet, Judo, karate).
Capo FitZone Fitness Center
The Capo FitZone Fitness Center features cardio equipment (treadmills, cross trainers, upright and recumbent bikes, a rowing machine, and Arc Trainers), strength training equipment (Universal Cable Machine, Selectorized Strength Circuit, Plate Loaded Strength Series, and a Chin/Dip Assist Machine), free weight equipment, and a full schedule of group exercise classes including yoga, Zumba, cardio combat, spin, NOFFS,, and core training.
Gaeta Fitness Centers
Includes two yurts that contain cardio and strength equipment and are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They also offer fitness classes and have a weekly schedule posted on the MWR Naples website.
Capo FitZone Pool
The Capo FitZone pool, located within the Capo FitZone gym complex, is an indoor, 25-meter, 6-lane heated pool with a separate Jacuzzi (you must be at least 15 years old to enter the Jacuzzi). The pool area offers a variety of year-round programs including lap swim, Command PT, group and private swim lessons, stroke refinement clinics, water fitness classes, recreational swimming, and special events. Carney Park Pool
The Carney Park pool, located immediately inside the entrance to Carney Park, a U.S. military recreational facility, is a huge outdoor, summer-seasonal, Olympic-sized recreational pool with multiple types of water slides for all ages, a diving board, a wading pool with a fountain for children 5 years and younger, a pool-side picnic/pavilion party rental area with a grill, multiple sunbathing areas, and NEX-operated concession stand (the ‘Tiki Bar’) on site. The Carney Park pool offers seasonal pool programs and events from June until August, as well as recreational swimming, lap swim lanes, swim lessons, MWR Camp Adventure pool time, after-hours pool party rentals, special events, and Independence Day holiday activities.
Support Site Pool
The Support Site pool, located next to the Fitness Forum Gym complex and across from the U.S. Naval Hospital, is an outdoor, summer-seasonal, 25-meter “Z”-shaped recreational pool with a small deep-end water slide, a diving board, a shallow area, a small wading pool for children 5 years and younger, a small pool-side picnic/party rental area, and NEX-operated concession stand (the “Splash Bar”) on site. The Support Site pool offers a wide variety of seasonal pool programs and events from May until September including swim lessons, recreational swimming, lap swim lanes, after-hours pool party rentals, special events, pool-time for MWR Camp Adventure, CDC and Teen Center, lifeguard training classes, and support for kayaking classes.
Intramural Sports
MWR Sports are held at Support Site, Capodichino, and Carney Park. There are a variety of sports to include Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Soccer, Flag Football, Corn Hole, Bubble Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, as well as special events, tournaments, and league play.
Auto Skills Center
The Auto Skills Center is equipped with seven bays (drive-on and frame lifts) and one motorcycle lift including tools and machinery to complete an array of car maintenance and repair yourself. There is also an automatic car wash, pressure wash, and four vacuums. Free automotive workshops are available every month. An events calendar is updated regularly on the MWR website.
Carney Park
Founded in 1966, Carney Park is a 96-acre recreation area and one of the most unique parks in Europe due to its location within an extinct volcanic crater. It includes a golf course (nine holes) and pro shop, the Fairways Bar and Grill, sports fields (soccer, baseball/softball, football, basketball, sand volleyball pits), tennis courts, youth playgrounds, hiking trails, an Olympic-sized pool with water slides and a kiddie pool, picnic areas (pavilions and tables), campsites, and cabins.
Gaeta Olde Mill Inn Park
The Olde Mill Inn Park is open to the military, DoD civilians and their families for leisure activities. The park is used for special events and parties, Command functions, trainings, conferences, and private organizations and groups. There are three picnic pavilions that may be reserved in advance through MWR Gaeta Fleet Recreation Center. Other small picnic areas are available on a first come, first served basis. Children will enjoy the playgrounds (one for toddlers and one for school-age kids). The sports complex includes two softball fields, a sand volleyball court, a lighted tennis court, and a horseshoe area. Restrooms and showers are available on site. The Olde Mill Inn indoor facility is composed of a main multi-purpose room, a fitness room, and a “Come and Play” room.
MWR Outdoor Recreation
Outdoor Recreation coordinates trips such as trekking, rafting, skiing/snowboarding and has equipment rental available at Carney Park including bikes, tents, sports equipment, folding chairs, and tables. Other base rental facilities offer skis, snowboards, bikes, tents, sports equipment, folding chairs, tables, and a variety of trips (hiking, kayaking, rafting, skiing). Classes such as archery, oil painting, climbing wall, and scuba certification are available as well.
NSA Naples Golf Course
The NSA Naples Golf Course is one of the most unique golf courses in the world as it is located approximately 20 minutes from NSA Capodichino Naval Base inside an extinct volcano at Carney Park. Open play, tournaments, and lessons are available for all ages. The golf manager is a PGA professional. Available are a challenging nine-hole course, driving range, practice putting and chipping greens, locker rooms, club storage, cart rental, and pro shop.

There are thousands of books and just-released popular periodicals. You may access several different databases and get involved with what Navy Knowledge Online has to offer. The staff is ready to assist you with all your library needs. Services offered include the Navy’s digital library, children’s story time, summer reading programs, special book exhibits, language learning programs, computer worstations, printing and scanning, wi-fi, private study areas, classrooms, DVDs, CDs, and audio books.
