Keith Potter

Executive Director, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, Groton

Groton, Connecticut

 After enlisting in March 2000 and completing the Nuclear Power Training Pipeline, he was assigned to Machinery Division aboard the USS PARCHE (SSN 683) where he completed two missions critical to national security, earning the presidential unit citation (PUC), and was part of final crew release for decommissioning.  Then after cross-decking, he was assigned to the USS VIRGINIA (SSN 774) and completed Bravo trials through post shakedown availability (PSA) at Electric Boat (EB).  His shore tour was with Maintenance Training Group (MTG) at NPTU Ballston Spa where he was the project superintendent/shutdown coordinator for the S8G prototype.  He then transferred back to the USS VIRGNIA to complete their first EDSRA at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.  His final active duty station was at Officer Training Command, Newport (OTCN) with the manning/training department. 

Upon retirement from active duty, he accepted a position with NAVSEA 05U7 as a propulsion subject matter expert, supporting in-service submarine engineering efforts.  Just prior to SUPSHIP, he was on the Staff of the Commander Pacific Fleet, where he was the Material Readiness Program Manager responsible for the daily 4-star briefings on the maintenance and operation readiness of all PACFLT forces in support of national security tasking where he also served as the Emergency Management Program Manager at PACFLT.  His last role was as the Quosnet Point Director with SUPSHIP-Groton.  In 2026, he was promoted to the position of Executive Director of Supervisor Shipbuilding, Groton.
