Lieutenant Commander Krishnan Rajagopalan is a U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Officer. Originally from Houston, Texas, he is a 2014 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, where he studied Operations Research. He also earned a Master of Science in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as an MIT Lincoln Laboratory Military Fellow.
His operational tours include assignment to EOD Mobile Unit SIX, home of the Kegbusters, where he deployed as an expeditionary mine countermeasures (ExMCM) platoon commander and company commander to US FIFTH Fleet and as Operations officer at Expeditionary Exploitation Unit ONE where he oversaw the deployment of expeditionary exploitation units of action in support of four geographic combatant commands.
Ashore, Rajagopalan has been assigned to the Chief of Naval Operations Staff (OPNAV) as the ExMCM Requirements officer within OPNAV N957, to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency as the Agency’s first military Innovation Fellow, and to Naval Sea Systems Command as the Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal (JEOD) fleet product director and assistant program manager for JEOD Publications and Procedures within PMS 408 – Expeditionary Missions.
Lieutenant Commander Rajagopalan assumed duties as executive officer of the Navy Experimental Diving Unit in December 2025.
