Master Chief Marcus, a native of Los Angeles, CA, joined the Navy in February 1998 and attended boot camp at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes. Upon completion of boot camp, he reported to Machinist Mate Nuclear Field ‘A’ school in Orlando, FL, followed by Nuclear Power School and Nuclear Power Training Unit (MTS 626) in Charleston, SC. Upon completion he reported as a Machinist Mate onboard USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72) where he completed two deployments.
Additional assignments include Staff Instructor in Nuclear Power Training Unit (MTS 635), USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), Nuclear Power Training Unit to serve as the Repair Department Leading Chief Petty Officer, USS GEORGE WASHINTON (CVN 73) completing the homeport shift from Yokosuka, Japan to Norfolk, VA. While on that tour he was selected to serve as the Reactor Department Master Chief onboard USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71). Master Chief Marcus was selected to the Command Master Chief Program in 2018.
Master Chief Marcus assumed the duties at Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Center on June 20, 2025.
His previous Command Master Chief tours include: USS CARNEY (DDG 64); Maritime Expeditionary Security Group Two Detachment Bahrain (MESG-2 Det Bahrain); Commander Naval Surface Squadron FIVE; Commander Destroyer Squadron SIX ZERO/Commander Task Force SIX FIVE.
His academic achievements include the Senior Enlisted Academy (class 180), CMC/COB course (class 184), Major CMC/COB course (Class 001) and Navy Senior Leader Seminar. His personal awards include the Legion of Merit (1 award), Meritorious Service Medal (three Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two Awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
