FCACS(SW) Daniel Craig Philmon, USN

Senior Enlisted Leader, Surface Combat Systems Center

Senior Chief Philmon, a native of Naples, Florida, enlisted in the United States Navy in July 2008.  Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois where he completed Fire Controlman “A” School.  Following rate training, he reported to Aegis Training and Readiness Center, Dahlgren, Virginia, where he completed FCS MILSPEC “C” School.  He is a Distinguished Honor Graduate of the MK 7 Aegis Weapon System course and MK 6 Aegis Weapon System course. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Combat Systems Maintenance Manager course, Combat Systems Senior Enlisted course, and the Senior Enlisted Academy.

Senior Chief Philmon completed a fleet tour aboard USS GETTYSBURG (CG 64), and a shore assignment at COMNAVPERSCOM Millington, Tennessee as the ET, FC, FCA and MN accessions detailer. 

Prior to arriving at Surface Combat Systems Center, Wallops Island, Virginia, Senior Chief Philmon completed a tour as the Combat Systems Department Leading Chief Petty Officer, Combat Systems Maintenance Manager and the Activity Manning Manager in USS MASON (DDG 87).

In February of 2025, Senior Chief Philmon assumed duties as Senior Enlisted Leader at Surface Combat Systems Center, Wallops Island, Virginia.

His personal awards include four Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals (two w/ Combat device), five Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Combat Action Ribbon, five Good Conduct Medals, Expert Rifle and Pistol Medals, and various unit and campaign awards.
