The University Engagement section of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) actively engages academic organizations in order to foster Science and Technology related relationships and collaboration. All efforts are focused on supporting the Warfighter These efforts are achieved by:
- Identifying academic institutions with similiar interests
- Fostering discssions within each organization to determine like-minded goals
- Mentoring the relationship
- Connect stakeholders with the proper mechanisms to foster success
Other programs associated with CTO University Engagement are: Alternative Funding Opportunities (Grants, Broad Agency Announcements, Broad Ordering Agreement), Research Appointments, Student Internships and CO-OPs and Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) PhD programs.
