During the visit, Owens and Cramer met with senior leadership from PHNSY & IMF to assess progress on the Navy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program and tour the shipyard’s dry dock areas that will be modernized beginning in 2023. Carderock Welcomes DoD STEM Ambassadors to West Bethesda

Department of Defense STEM Ambassadors stand together for a group photo outside the David Taylor Model Basin (DTMB) in West Bethesda, Md., on Feb. 22, 2024. This year’s cohort, which includes more than 20 educators, toured some of Carderock’s state-of-the-art facilities for the first time in the program’s history, including the Waste Water Management Lab, Additive Manufacturing Research Lab and the DTMB. The DoD STEM Ambassadors Program consists of high-performing educators around the country and provides them with a unique, enriching opportunity to create and curate new STEM learning resources for students nationwide.
