During the visit, Owens and Cramer met with senior leadership from PHNSY & IMF to assess progress on the Navy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program and tour the shipyard’s dry dock areas that will be modernized beginning in 2023. The first modernization action proposes to construct and operate a new graving dry dock and waterfront production facility to support current and future classes of the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines.

2021 Annual Awards ceremony highlights critical work done by NUWC Division Newport employees to support the fleet

The winner of the prestigious Naval Undersea Warfare Center Naval Undersea Warfare Center Commander/Technical Director Award for 2021 is the Large Scale Exercise 2021 (LSE 2021) Harpoon and Third Party Targeting (3PT) Team recognized for their critical work supporting a Harpoon missile launch during LSE 2021, the largest U.S. Navy exercise since 1991. Team members include Eric Sykes (from left), James Goodger, Eric Boucher, Caryn Cummings, Jonathan Dell, Bryan Enloe, William Roman, Jeremiah Holbrook, Christopher Aunchman, Anthony Thomas Cataldo and Gregory Kocab.
