Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) held a groundbreaking for its new production training facility July 1, which will consolidate training currently spread across 26 different NNSY locations and eight departments into a single 157,000 square-foot, $64.7 million dollar facility. 2016 NSWCDD Honorary Awards

DAHLGREN, Va. (May 17, 2017) - Lt. Cmdr. Wesley Simon holds the C.J. Rorie Award moments after receiving it from Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) leadership at the command's annual honor awards ceremony. Simon was recognized for his contributions as NSWCDD's senior watch officer and as Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) lead combat system engineer. "His support of NSWCDD military operations has added to the depth of military expertise available at Dahlgren and his vision, leadership, technical acumen, and determination within Aegis BMD have provided the warfighter with new technology, extended service life, and combat viability for fielded Aegis combatants," according to the citation.
