Master Chief Richard Meek is a native of San Jose, California. His Naval Career started in 1993 at Recruit Training Command San Diego, California. After completion of CTR "A" school in Pensacola, Florida his first assignment was onboard the USS Deyo (DD 989) homeport Charleston, South Carolina and later homeport shifted to Norfolk, Va.
His other sea assignments include a staff tour at Commander Third Fleet embarked onboard USS Coronado (AGF 11) Point Loma, CA, a PLANKOWNER aboard USS Pinckney (DDG 91), a DLCPO tour aboard USS Peleliu (LHA 5), Assistant Cryptologic Resource Coordinator at Commander Carrier Strike Group Fifteen, and Command Master Chief onboard USS Spruance (DDG 111).
His shore assignment were Fleet Combat Training Center Pacific (TACTRAGRUPAC) as lead Team Training Instructor, Afloat Training Group San Diego as lead Cryptologic assessor, Navy Information Operations Command, Georgia, as the S1 Senior Enlisted Leader, and Information Warfare Training Group San Diego as the Command Master Chief.
Master Chief Meek is a graduate of the Air Force Senior Enlisted Academy (class 13c), the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course and has an Associates of Arts degree in management from Coastline Community College. His deployments include multiple Western Pacific tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and other contingency operations.
Master Chief Meek assumed his current position as Command Master Chief Southwest Regional Maintenance Center in December 2022.
Master Chief Meek is designated as Surface Warfare, Air Warfare, Enlisted Information Warfare, Master and Afloat Training Specialist. He has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5), as well as numerous unit and campaign awards.
