While capitalizing on teleworking and technology, Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) is using a team of 52 engineers and technicians to support an integrated shipcheck on USS Essex (LHD-2) at Naval Base San Diego.  In response to concerns about COVID-19, NNSY’s Engineering and Planning Department has implemented a number of measures to save time and reduce the number of personnel on travel and required to undergo Restriction of Movement (ROM) to support shipchecks.
