NSWC Multipurpose Schema- Description

The NSWC Multipurpose Schemas are used to create and manage technical data with an emphasis on simplicity and data reuse. The NSWC Multipurpose Schemas were initially designed to create Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) for surface search radar systems, but are well suited for most data sets. The data can be displayed in either linear or non-linear formats making it suitable for both TMs and training data. Additionally, the data can be exported out as valid 24784C XML (version 2.2).

The NSWC Multipurpose Schemas provide configuration based data management allowing for the creation of multiple, unique manuals from a single, common data set. This capability reduces production time and costs associated with life cycle data maintenance.

The associated publisher creates an ATIS/TDKM compliant IETM that only requires the end user to be running Internet Explorer 6.0+ and the appropriate plug-ins necessary to display multimedia files. It currently supports PNG, BMP, and SVG (no plug-in needed) graphics and AVI, MOV, MPEG, MPG, RA, RM, RAM, WMV, WMA, ASF, WAV, and MP3 audio/video formats.
