Navy Accepts Delivery of USNS City of Bismarck
Dec. 19, 2017 - MOBILE, Ala. - The Navy accepted delivery of its ninth Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF) vessel, USNS City of Bismarck (EPF 9), Dec 19.

Navy Accepts Delivery of Future USS Ralph Johnson

Nov. 15, 2017 - PASCAGOULA, Miss. -- The Navy accepted delivery of future guided-missile destroyer USS Ralph Johnson (DDG 114) from shipbuilder Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), Nov. 15.

Nov. 14, 2017 - PASCAGOULA, Miss. -- The keel of the future USS Lenah H. Sutcliffe Higbee (DDG 123) was ceremoniously laid on Nov. 14 at the Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) shipyard.

U.S. Navy Releases Draft Request For Proposal For Coast Guard Icebreaker Design, Construction
Oct. 19, 2017 - The U.S. Navy, in collaboration with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) under an Integrated Program Office (IPO), released a draft Request for Proposal (RFP) Oct. 19 for the detail design and construction of a Heavy Polar Icebreaker (HPIB). The draft RFP is for one HPIB, with options for two additional HPIBs.

Future USS Fort Lauderdale Keel Authenticated
Oct. 13, 2017 - PASCAGOULA, Miss. - The keel for the future USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD 28) was authenticated during a ceremony at Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) on Oct. 13.

NAVSEA providing ready naval assets to combatant commanders on time
A diver assigned to Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center Norfolk, performs repairs on USS Carney (DDG 64). USS Portland (LPD 27) Successfully Completes Builder's Trials
The amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27) conducts its first set of sea trials in the Gulf of Mexico. Ingalls' test and trials team spent four days operating the 11th San Antonio-class ship and demonstrating its systems.

Ex-USS Independence departs Naval Base Kitsap
The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Independence (CV-62) at sea during the later 1980s or early 1990s.
March 15, 2017 - BREMERTON, Wash. – The ex-USS Independence (CV-62), an aircraft carrier decommissioned Sept. 30, 1998, is planned to embark on its final journey March 10.

After tracing her initials onto the keel plate of DDG 121 -- the future USS FRANK E. The keel authentication ceremony for DDG 121 was held Tuesday morning, Feb. 21, at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS.  Also observing at left is Ingalls Shipbuilding President Mr. Brian Cuccias.  The keel's co-authenticator, Mr. Donald Brabston, a 50-year Ingalls employee, was unable to attend.

USNS Yuma Completes Acceptance Trials

Jan. 19, 2017 - The U.S. Navy recognized two milestones Jan. 18 in the construction of Expeditionary Fast Transports (EPF); the keel authentication of the Navy’s ninth EPF, USNS City of Bismarck, and the start of fabrication for the 11th EPF, USNS Puerto Rico.
