NSWC Crane hosted its fourth annual Microelectronics Integrity Meeting (MIM) at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis Aug. 7-8. Nearly 400 professionals attended this year’s event, registrants including Department of Defense employees and contractors, as well as academia and industry professionals. 

“Trust: The Future is Now” was the conference theme, with speakers and panels focusing on the impact that microelectronics have on our lives and as the foundation of United States Defense and Intelligence systems.

Shantelle Clark, a supervisory marine machinery mechanic with the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility San Diego Detachment’s Marine Machinery Division. She started with the command as a helper-trainee in 2005, before enrolling in the apprenticeship program. She graduated from the program in 2010.

Xander Harmon, a nuclear engineer with the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility’s San Diego Detachment Nuclear Fluid Systems and Mechanical Engineering Division. Harmon was hired directly out of college and has been with the command since June 2009.

Bill Kennington, an electrician with Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility’s San Diego Detachment Temporary Services Division. Kennington has been with the command since August 2011 and is a graduate of the Southwestern Regional Apprenticeship Program in San Diego.
