Future USNS Carson City (EPF 7) Completes Acceptance Trials

160525 (May 25, 2016) GULF OF MEXICO - The future USNS Carson City (EPF 7) successfully completed its builder's acceptance trials during an underway period in the Gulf of Mexico, May 25-26. Expeditionary Fast Transport class ships (EPFs) are versatile, non-combatant, transport ships that will be used for high-speed mobility and transportation of troops, military vehicles, and equipment in support of a wide variety of missions. Future USS Delbert D. Black (DDG 119) Keel Authenticated

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (June 1, 2016) - Mrs. Ima Black places her initials onto the keel plate of DDG 119 during the ceremony authenticating the keel of the future USS Delbert D. Black. The destroyer was named in honor of Black’s late husband Delbert Black, the first Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy. The Flight IIA Arleigh Burke class ship will serve as an integral player in global maritime security, engaging in air, undersea, surface, strike and ballistic missile defense.

160421-N-YE579-005 (May 20, 2016) BATH, Maine - The U.S. Navy accepted delivery of DDG 1000, the future USS Zumwalt destroyer May 20. Following a crew certification period and October commissioning ceremony in Baltimore, Zumwalt will transit to her homeport in San Diego for a Post Delivery Availability and Mission Systems Activation. DDG 1000, pictured during acceptance trials in April, is the lead ship of the Zumwalt-class destroyers; next-generation multi-mission surface combatants tailored for land attack and littoral dominance. GULF OF MEXICO - The Navy's future amphibious transport dock, John P. Murtha (LPD 26) successfully completed Builder's Trials March 4. The principal mission of LPD 17 San Antonio class ships is to deploy combat and support elements of Marine Expeditionary Units and Brigades. With the capability of transporting and debarking air cushion or conventional landing craft and augmented by helicopters or MV-22 vertical take-off and landing aircraft, these ships support amphibious assault, special operations, and expeditionary warfare missions. Future USS Montgomery (LCS 8) Completes Acceptance Trials

160506-N-ZZ999-001 (May 6, 2016)Future USS Montgomery (LCS 8) at sea conducting acceptance trials demonstrating the performance of the propulsion plant, ship handling, and auxiliary systems. The acceptance trial is the last significant milestone before delivery of the ship to the Navy, which is planned for later this spring.
