Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, White Sands Detachment in New Mexico recently participated in the At Sea Demonstration/Formidable Shield 2021(ASD/FS21) exercise where the team successfully executed several missions including the launch of a GQM-163 Coyote from a 4.3K launcher pictured above. The multi-nation ASD/FS21 exercise took place from May 15 to June 3 at the Hebrides Range off Scotland's coast and also at Andøya Space Defense in western Norway.

A modified AML 43K launcher that a team with Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division’s White Sands Detachment built to launch GQM-163 Coyote missile targets for the upcoming 2021 At Sea Demonstration/Formidable Shield Exercise exercise scheduled for May 15 to June 3 at the Hebrides Range off Scotland’s coast and at Andøya Space off Norway’s coast. The exercise is part of the Maritime Theater Missile Defense Forum to test the latest in air and missile defense technical capabilities.
