NSWC PCD’s INSPIRE event ignites culture of leadership, diversity and innovation

Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division dedicated an entire day to educate and challenge its workforce on building and sustaining a diverse and innovative work environment during its INSPIRE: Igniting a Culture of Leadership and Innovation event held at Gulf Coast State College, Panama City, Fla., August 9. Speakers (clockwise from top left) Dr. Steve Robbins, author, inclusion and diversity expert discussed “Science Based Approach to Inclusion, Diversity and Belonging”, Dr. Angie Lewis, Senior Executive Service, NSWC Crane Division technical director highlighted “Unified Leadership”, Mr. Brian Blackwell, principal consultant, BD Blackwell Consulting addressed “Leading from Where You Are”, and DeDe Halfhill, renowned leadership expert and colonel, U.S. Air Force, ret., explained the “Art of Language and Connection”. NSWC Panama City personnel provide integrated MCM tactics expertise for BALTOPS 22

Personnel representing various global military units supporting Exercise Baltic Operations 2022 (BALTOPS 22) pause at the Ravlunda site during National Day of Sweden, June 6. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) Integrated Mine Countermeasures Tactics team provided the combined task group staff with support during the exercise and brought that experience back to the Navy lab. Panama City engineer wins Top Navy award

Andrew Bouchard, a Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) engineer, was recently selected as a recipient of the Individual Engineer Award for 2022 by the Assistant Secretary of the Navy Research, Development and Acquisition (ASN RD&A) Dr. Delores M. Etter Top Navy Scientists and Engineers Awards committee. This award recognizes the top Naval engineers and scientists who demonstrate superior technical merit, innovation and operational impact in alignment with ASN RD&A priorities. NSWC Panama City technical departments battle in Director’s Cup challenge

Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division's Technical Director's Cup challenged three teams from each of (NSWC PCD's technical departments at Naval Support Activity Panama City, Fla., May 20, 2022. The teams consisted of new NSWC PCD professionals with less than five years of experience in the workforce. The competition provides teams with the opportunity to enhance critical thinking and learn skillsets to further research, develop, test and evaluation efforts for the Department of the Navy. Dan Coates, the Ship to Shore Connector (SSC) In-Service Engineering Agent electrical lead at Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division, takes pride in his Korean heritage. Coats works with a team of electrical engineers and electrical technicians to develop solutions for urgent needs that arise from testing, sponsor directed tasks, and improving on the current design.

NSWC Panama City leader opens doors to a new chapter in life

NSWC PCD Women in Leadership Panel celebrates past, present and future One Team impact

The Federal Women’s Program at Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) served as the driving force behind an event which highlighted the various ways women contribute in their personal and professional lives by hosting a Women’s History Panel on March 29. Seven female panelist were selected to represent the seven departments across the command to celebrate their accomplishments, discuss a variety of topics that affect the workforce culture, and to shine a spotlight on the importance these panel opportunities bring.
