The Joint Direct Attack Munition Assault Breaching System (JABS) Test and Evaluation Team is made up of personnel from Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division, NSWC Indian Head, Innovative Professional Solutions, Inc., support contractors and Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Panama City scientist awarded Top Navy Scientist Award

Dr. Richard Tatum, Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division scientist, was recently recognized with the Individual Scientist Award from the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development and Acquisition) 2023 Dr. Delores M. Etter Top Scientists and Engineers Awards. He developed and extended a mathematical framework to identify cost-effective, hypothetical autonomous systems to accomplish fleet mission goals. Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division's Mission: To conduct research, development, test and evaluation, in-service support of mine warfare systems, mines, naval special warfare systems, diving and life support systems, amphibious/expeditionary maneuver warfare systems, other missions that occur primarily in coastal (littoral) regions and to execute other responsibilities as assigned by the Commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center. Vision: Ensuring Warfighting Dominance in the Littoral Battlespace.
